Here's my reason for doing this podcast, and why I wanted to call it the Aardvark Lounge .

Ok, all that crap on the main page was written by Shian. I'm sorry if it came off as pretentious. It's hard for pretentious people not to come off, well, pretentious. For the record, I wanted to call our show the Aardvark Lounge, but I was out numbered by Shian and his six other personalities. I may still refer to the show as the Aardvark Lounge in protest against the Anarchy that led to the installation of said pretentious name of the show. Lighten up Shian, we are rookies, this is Karaoke for talk radio. Until thousands of listeners scramble to download our casts and insist to their friends that they must listen to the Aardvark Lounge, we are just a couple fat chicks at the local bar singing Hippo mating calls.

You should know that Shian and I are very close friends and, though we often delight in ribbing each other, deep down inside, in some microscopic cavern, tucked underneath the toe nail of the pinky toe of our respective souls, we care and respect each other deeply. I feel a deep sense of responsibility for and toward Shian for having taught him everything he knows about…everything and he feels eternally grateful to me for having done so.

We both share a fairly far left, liberal view of things, but not everything in our minds points left. For instance; I am in favor of the death penalty. If you kill a child, you do not deserve to live. If you use your position of influence and access, such as that of a priest, to abuse a child, you do not deserve to live.  If you talk over your co-host, you don't deserve to live.

There are things I care about deeply, that I consider very serious issues and we will touch on those issues in the upcoming episodes. If you have any topic you would like us to discuss, please let us know. We will do our level best to examine your issue.

For the record, I love this Podcast medium. I love that someone half way around the world, can lean in (digitally speaking) and peer into our lives. I hope that people in other countries will discover that there are people
(me and Shian) in America who are still decent, honorable and virtuous. I hope they will realize that not all Americans agree with the policies and atrocities of the Bush puppet regime and my greatest hope is that, not only will we discover that we are not alone, but that we are in fact the true Moral Majority.
